Micro Ivy
Overview
The Micro Ivy is a localised, highly specialised variant of the Ivy Skulk used strictly for urban infiltration. It is an extreme, insidious hazard deployed exclusively by a Seeker. Unlike standard Ivy, Micro Ivy is nearly microscopic when first deployed. It spreads rapidly across household surfaces - particularly windows, mirrors, and glass - where it becomes entirely invisible to the naked eye. Once established, it acts as an unseen tripwire system for ambush predators and eventually matures into a spawning ground for the rest of the Vita Filorum family.
Operation Protocols
Micro Ivy bridges the gap between biological plant life and a covert home-security system, operating as the silent trap that secures human prey for the Hunter.
Trapping & Ambush
- Sensory Tripwires: The Seeker secretes Micro Ivy across high-traffic human chokepoints (doorframes, hallways, and windows). These invisible threads are highly sensitive to physical vibration and air pressure changes. If a human walks through a doorway, the Micro Ivy vibrates, immediately alerting the Seeker to their exact location.
- Optical Camouflage: The threads naturally refract light, making them virtually undetectable when growing over glass or glossy surfaces. Humans often look right through heavily infested windows without realizing they are sealed inside.
Biological Spawning
- Ecosystem Catalyst: Micro Ivy is not just a sensor; it is the embryonic foundation for a new colony. If left unchecked, and once the local human population has been harvested for biomass, the Micro Ivy will thicken, become visible, and begin rapidly spawning the rest of the Vita Filorum family directly inside the human structure.
Interaction Logic
- Vibration Telemetry: When a human trips a strand of Micro Ivy, it sends a localised, low-voltage sync pulse to the Seeker, silently updating the network on the prey's movement without triggering an attack:
MVY-SYS-RLY-SYC-L. - System Priming: If the Micro Ivy detects a human isolating themselves (eg closing a bedroom door coated in the ivy), it provides the telemetry needed for the Seeker to initiate the Hunter's wake protocol.
