Vulture
Overview
The Vulture is a flying Vita Filorum that specialises in watching an area from above. It is an incredibly large beast with an exposed skull. It cannot see either. It uses echo location to locate danger. But is very limited and inaccurate. It is very powerful animal in conjunction in a network of Tether Sensors.
Operation protocols
The Vulture operates as a dual-purpose fauna, transitioning between passive aerial surveillance and active combat based on signal telemetry. While naturally blind and reliant on limited echolocation, its effectiveness is dictated by its integration into a broader sensor network.
Monitoring
-
Aerial Surveillance: By default, the Vulture is maintained in a "Innate" state to watch(hear) designated areas from above.
-
Network Integration: The Vulture relies heavily on external data from Tether Sensors to pinpoint danger exclusively when in an **Apex State, as its internal echolocation is limited and inaccurate.
Safety Buffers
-
State Transition: The entity remains passive until it receives a specific Instructional signal, at which point it becomes an Apex Vulture. This is very rare as Tether Sensors will only use Apex Vultures as a last resort
-
Threat Classification: In its Apex state, this entity is one of the deadliest members of the Vita Filorum and maintains a near 100% kill rate.
Interaction Logic
-
Diving Tactic: The primary hunting method is a high-speed vertical dive followed by wrapping its massive wings around the target to crush them. Vultures can be very careless and may even die on impact.
-
Redundancy Protocol: If the initial crush does not neutralise the target, nearby Vultures are programmed to repeatedly land on the victim to ensure a successful kill.
